The Tasman Peninsula is a stunning destination that offers many places to explore, including beautiful beaches, rugged sea cliffs, and scenic walks. Several of Tasmania's "Great Short Walks" can be found, including the walks to Cape Huay and Crescent Bay. Beaches such as Pirates Bay and Murdunna's own Sommers Bay offer plenty of opportunities for swimming and relaxing. Wildlife abounds.

Taste the Region

The area has a range of dining options, from high-end restaurants like Van Bone to more casual spots like the Dunalley Hotel. The nearby Bangor Vineyard Shed won Gold at the Australian Tourism Awards for its offering of quality food and wine. Other great wineries and distilleries like Cape Bernier Vineyard and McHenry Distillery are not far away. Enjoy locally-roasted coffee with unparalleled views at the Cubed Espresso Bar.

Experience Now and Then

The Peninsula has a rich history, including its role as a convict penal settlement in the 19th century; visitors can explore this history at several historic sites including the World-heritage-listed Port Arthur and Coal Mines Historic Sites. Take a Tasman Island Cruise to see the rugged coastline up close or head to the Eaglehawk Dive Centre for world-class scuba diving opportunities.
